Location: Windermere

Full refurbishment to 200 year old building, included internal and external work and a new extension.  Painting work included all bedrooms, corridors, restaurant, ballroom, kitchens, function room and staff areas.

The work took 1 year with 10 painters and 1 apprentice.  Access equipment included scissor lifts and podium towers.

PSN worked in conjunction with other trades and followed Medlock’s programme of works that continually change.

Challenges included existing damp issues that had to be treated and many areas had excessive damp that was a daily challenge.

Work was completed during the Winter months and throughout January lockdown 2021 which brought resource and material issues.

To reach the standards the client expected was equally as challenging due to the existing underlying issues in the building, old walls, old woodwork, these were achieved through working closely with Medlock and the joinery team as new walls were installed and new walls plastered.

The scope of works was changing on a weekly basis due to uncovering issues within the building due to the age of it.

Crown paints was used for all internal works, and PPG, Johnstones paints for all external work.

PSN completed the job for Medlock and achieved practical completion, then the hotel came direct to PSN due to the exceptional work done on site to complete additional works.

Works were completed on time and within budget.
