The Mercure Birmingham West Hotel, formerly known as the Park Hotel, was built in 1974, the building was quite unremarkable, and the design, typical for the era. Since it’s recent transformation it is now a modern, contemporary hotel fit for the 21st century.
The clients brief was simple, they were looking to offer guests a complete lifestyle experience based on originality, design, authenticity, and cultural connections, stimulating a diverse and innovative environment, enhanced by a sense of belonging and style and focusing on wellness and life enrichment.
Whilst the 130bed hotel remained operational, the client stripped-out all existing fixtures and fittings from bedrooms and bathrooms. Working around numerous trades installing new carpets, beds, bathroom suites etc, PSN stripped the wallpaper and the rooms were then re-plastered before being completely redecorated.
All public areas including, staircases, corridors, lift lobbies were fully redecorated within the tight deadlines set-out. PSN completed the hotel floor by floor, room by room whilst the hotel remained completely operational throughout.
Again to minimize disruption to the day to day running of the hotel PSN completed the Reception and Restaurant areas on nights.
Back of house, offices, canteens areas had a paint refresh and function rooms were also repainted with some wallpapering.
To complete the overall look, PSN revamped the whole external giving the hotel a modern fresh look, completing the transformation into a luxury hi-end hotel, achieving the clients vision exactly!
